Week 7 Animation Studio (Tonals and Warmth and Cold)

This week in the Tonal project, all Conann has told us is to continue our previous work with warm and cold tonals, but to consider camera angles and lighting more in our images. I think I've taken that to heart, since I started thinking about a more interesting way to present what I've been drawing.

For Research, I thought about what I'd already seen that incorporated deep caverns, and how they presented it. The things I found were:

Rango:

Cybertron (Transformers):

Termite Mounds:

To really push past the problems in this project, I think we need to push past some of the earthly elements we've been stuck with. This idea, of basically having a mesh of caverns throughout, would both make sense in the world, and be far from realistic.

It would make sense because the drug addled creatures would dig wherever they could to find the crystal, and so would eventually tear up and dig up every possible part of the caves.

I tried to put these ideas together in a few tonals below. I hope that they adequately show a bit more cinematography and lighting, to make the world we've created feel a bit more real. I focused a lot on lighting and tone of different shapes, and I think it brings out some more depth that is essential to creating a good shot.
