Semester 2 Week 9 Animation Narratives

Short Film Animation

We had presentations on our work last week, and I applied some of the changes that were suggested. There's still a few problems with the lighting, the camerawork, and the visuals, but it's gotten a good deal cleaner since we got the feedback. I'll post the animatic for context.
We originally had the animatic playing out like this, but we've decided to change it to a different reveal. Instead of cutting directly to the deer after the shot goes off, we'll cut to the first shot for a few seconds, and then back to the hunter. The hunter will then slump over, and reveal the deer that shot it. I'm kind of frustrated with this, because in the initial edit, we had it set up like this:

There were a few problems, but I remember suggesting that cutting straight to the deer didn't feel right. The group, and the teachers seemed to be leaning towards that, so I backed down. I understand why people didn't think the latest edit would work, but it's still somewhat frustrating to end up having to change it back to what I feel was the original idea.

I've changed the camera work and the scene file to the most recent edit, but I can't do much more without the rigs from the other members of the group. I still haven't gotten confirmation that the characters are actually finished, so I think there's going to be a fair bit more waiting until we get this done. I'm a bit frustrated, mostly becuas eI feel like I have some free time and would like to get through the animation soon. I feel like we're falling behind since the rigs aren't done yet. I do understand that it's difficult, and I'm not doing it myself, but looking at others, most of them have finished their rigs too. I did ask if I needed to help out with the rigs, but they said they were fine.

We said we'd put the animation together this week, and I hope that holds true.
